I have been asked several times to explain Google Ad Words & Ad Senses, so here it is.….
Ad Sense
When you sign up for google Adense, Google will issue some code that when placed on a webpage will display Ads.
Google AdSense allows website owners to promote their websites and increase the traffic to their site. The general idea is that every time a displayed ad is clicked additional traffic is driven to that site and the website owner pays a fee to Google for each click on their Ad. (Pay Per Click). Google will pay a percentage of revenue to you for displaying the Ad.
AdWords
The AdWords program is a very effective advertising program owned by Google. Its purpose is to display Google AdWords advertisements on as many sites as possible. These are the ads that are described above under the AdSense heading. .
When you sign up for Google AdWords you are asking Google to display an advertisement for your company/service across the Google Network. On signing up for AdWords there is an initial nominal verification fee which varies according to country. For Ireland the Verification Fee is €5.00.
There are two types of Ad campaign you can run under the AdWords Banner.
Keyword Targeted Ad & Site-targeted Ad.
Keyword Tergeted Ad
When you create an AdWords keyword-targeted ad, you choose keywords for your ad and specify the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each click. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. To save you even more money, an AdWords Discounter will automatically reduces the actual CPC you pay to the lowest cost needed to maintain your ad's position.
Site Targetted Ad
When you create an AdWords site-targeted ad, you choose the exact Google Network content sites where your ad will run and specify the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each thousand page views on that site. You pay whenever someone views your ad. As with keyword-targeted ads, the AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual CPM you pay to the lowest cost needed for your ad to win the placement on that page.
How Much does it Cost?
That’s up to you. You select a keyword that would be associated with your sites content and you set a Maximum cost per click or maximum cost per impressions. The ammount your willing to pay can be changed at any time and you can opt out at any time.
